Drive couplings in general

By using drive couplings a connection is made between the driving element such as an electromotor, and the pump. Drive couplings also known as shaft couplings are often used in combination with a bell housing. Findynamica has a complete range of drive couplings for powers ranging from 0,18 to 132 kW available from stock.

Aluminium drive couplings ND

The ND series drive couplings are aluminium with an elastic rubber spider between both halves of the coupling. The ND couplings can be used up to 90 kW power and 725 Nm torque. Thanks to their simple production process ND couplings are cheap to buy and have a long lifespan.

Steel drive couplings OMT

OMT series drive couplings are steel couplings with a white polyamide ring with internal teeth on both sides which you can slide over the two coupling halves. OMT couplings are available in different groups as indicated below.

Chain couplings VL

Series VL chain couplings are steel drive couplings that are connected to each other through a duplex chain. In both halves of the chain coupling there is an internal spline which makes it possible to choose the right drilling for the spline shaft. The VL series drive couplings are available in different groups as indicated below.

Calculations

The torque required to drive a pump can be calculated as follows:

Required torque in Nm = (1,59 * P * Y) / 80

P = Working pressure in Bar
Y = Displacement in cc/rev
